AIKEN, SC (WJBF)- It was rivalry night at the Convocation Center, as the Augusta Jaguars take on USCA.
The Augusta women grabbed the 61-53 win in overtime, improving them to 17-7 overall and 12-5 in Peach Belt Conference play. Quinasia Abercrombie scored a double-double 16 points and 11 rebounds.
“Definitely important, it’s the peach belt, it’s a tough conference, you can’t take any team for granted. Down the stretch, we kept telling our players, keep thinking of this as tournament time, it’s one game at a time, and just focusing on being present in the moment,” said Augusta women’s head coach Celeste Stewart.
In the men’s game, Augusta looking to avenge their loss to USCA earlier in the season. Elias Palsson scored a career-high 38 points as the Jags beat the Pacers 80-74.
