The Seattle Seahawks are the new champions of the National Football League, after defeating the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California on Sunday night. Seattle's dominant defense won the day in the 16-point victory, and New England looked hapless on offense for most of the night.
For the Oklahoma Sooners, their only representation in the Super Bowl this year came in the form of Patriots' running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who played for OU in 2019 and 2020. Stevenson came to Norman from the junior college level, and he scored 13 touchdowns in 19 games played for the Sooners, before being drafted by the Pats in the fourth round.
Stevenson has spent his entire career in New England, carving out his role as the team's starting running back. Despite not having the biggest numbers in Super Bowl LX, he did manage to find the end zone. Stevenson made a shoestring catch on a pass from quarterback Drake Maye late in the fourth quarter, and walked in for a score that made the final tally look a bit more respectable for the losing team.

New England's offense struggled to get anything going for much of the night, as the 'Hawks rolled to their second championship win in franchise history. Stevenson received only seven carries in the game, amassing 23 rushing yards. He also caught five passes for 40 yards and a touchdown, but one could wonder why Stevenson wasn't a bigger part of the Patriots' game plan.
The Sooners have now seen a former player score in four of the last five Super Bowls. In addition to Stevenson's score this year, Oklahoma has seen quarterback Jalen Hurts find the end zone in Super Bowls LIX and LVII, and running back Joe Mixon score in Super Bowl LVI. That number increases to five out of the last seven Super Bowls if you include running back Damien Williams, who scored in Super Bowl LIV.
Stevenson was instrumental in helping the Patriots reach Super Bowl LX, especially in the AFC Championship Game, carrying the ball 25 times for 71 yards in the win.
