Former welterweight champion Errol Spence just recently caught up with Fight Hype for a bit to talk about Jermell Charlo calling him out for a fight, while also weighing in with his thoughts on an upcoming super weightweight title fight between Sebastian Fundora and Keith Thurman. Check out some of what he had to say below.

Spence on being called out by former stablemate Jermell Charlo

“I mean, Canelo gone, Terence gone, so who else he gonna get a big payday from? That’s the only reason he called me out, because everybody know how the sparring went. His coach know how the sparring went, everybody in the gym know how the sparring went. Hey, man, he wants some money.”

On Fundora vs Thurman

“Whoever hit whoever first. If Keith Thurman hit him with one of those wide overhands or hooks, it might be Thurman. But Fundora’s been doing a good job with the jab, able to keep the distance. So if he jabs, keeps the distance and picks him apart, I feel like Fundora throw a lot of punches, he’ll break Keith Thurman down over time.”

On Frank Martin making a ring return soon

“I’m excited, man. You know, he’s staying active, staying busy…He’s fighting a decent opponent [Nahir Albright], he’s pretty good…He gave Keyshawn a tough fight so it’s a good test.”
