Eagles legend and NFL insider attempts to provide reassurance about Lane Johnson

All retirements aren't created equally. Remember when Fletcher Cox and Jason Kelce rode off into the sunset within days of one another? Remember how Philadelphia Eagles fans felt when Nick Foles and DeSean Jackson finally hung up their cleats?

The first thing we probably felt was age. Gosh, we're getting old. Guys whose entire careers we've watched are now eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. We remember when Brandon Graham was drafted. Now, he's the old man who's won two Super Bowl rings, retired, and come back to play again.

Talking about the team one grew up rooting for is a dream come true. You have no idea, but there are tough days, too. It's sometimes hard to demonstrate professionalism when the emotions you feel make you more inclined to shed tears.

Think about something for a second. Philadelphia has lost Jeff Stoutland. Brandon Graham may retire again, even though he doesn't want to, and, to add injury to insult, pun intended, there are whispers that we may have seen the last of Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson in Eagles jerseys.

Adam Schefter weighs in on Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson.

Rumors of Johnson and Dickerson's potential retirements have yet to be confirmed or denied. Fingers are crossed for good news. Seeing Dickeson run upstairs to dispose of the trash has, believe it or not, become a viral moment.

Occasionally, there are clips posted of Lane Johnson working out. That leads to research. When were these clips recorded? Are they recent?

Perhaps this will help. ESPN's senior NFL insider, Adam Schefter, recently made his weekly appearance on 97.5 The Fanatic's Kincade and Salciunas show. His latest update will be music to the ears of Eagles fans.

"I do expect that Lane Johnson will be back. I have heard the Landon Dickerson conversation [on potential retirement], I don’t know how real it is or isn’t, but I’d be surprised if Lane Johnson isn’t back, I don‘t know as much about Landon Dickerson”.

Eagles Hall of Famer LeSean McCoy also checked in. He offers more positive feedback about Johnson's status.

So, there you have it. We have a 'sort of' from Adam Schefter, and something more definite from McCoy. There aren't any guarantees about Dickerson, but it's something positive to carry us until the next update.
