SIDMAN, Pa. – Senior Brandon Gregovich scored 16 points and surpassed 1,000 career points in Forest Hills’ 77-39 victory over visiting Bishop Carroll Catholic.
Forest Hills’ five seniors set the tone as Gregovich, Koy McGough, Xander Richardson, Colson Tokarsky and Kevin Edmondson all started, with Gregovich hitting his milestone just over a minute into the contest.
“It felt really good,” Gregovich said. “I am thankful for Xander’s wonderful pass, and I would like to thank my teammates who back me and give me the confidence to do what I do. I would not be here without them.”
McGough led the Rangers with 20 points. Bishop Carroll Catholic’s Jace Casses netted 21 points.
Forest Hills coach Dominic Vescovi praised Gregovich.
“Brandon has made a career out of rim-running and hustle, so that play was a very fitting way to get his 1,000th point,” Vescovi said. “I couldn’t be prouder of him.”
Forest Hills led 17-13 after a quarter, but used a 23-3 second-quarter scoring advantage to take command.
“These seniors set the tone for us in practice, in the classroom, and off the court,” Vescovi said of the senior night recognition. “I am very lucky to have a group of players like them.”
Gregovich, who needed one point Tuesday to reach the milestone, became the 14th player in program history to tally 1,000 points.
This is the first time in program history three 1,000-point scorers are on the team at once.
McGough and junior Dylan Stohon each have well over 1,000 career points.
After Gregovich netted just 10 points as a freshman, he tallied 284 in 2023-24 and 381 in 2024-25. He posted 324 points heading into Tuesday’s contest. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound forward also has 409 rebounds. He has made 68% of his field-goal attempts. His scoring average increased from 12.9 points per game as a sophomore to 14.7 as a junior and 15.4 this season.
