Grant Williams starts, plays 32 minutes for Charlotte versus Hawks

Charlotte (26-29) defeated Atlanta (26-30), 110-107, Wednesday at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Former Vol GrantWilliams started and played 32 minutes for the Hornets. He totaled seven points, eight rebounds, five assists and one block. Williams converted 1-of-9 field goal attempts, 0-of-6 three-point attempts and 5-of-7 free throw attemppts.

He played at Tennessee from 2016-19 and was a two-time SEC Player of the Year, a 2019 NCAA unanimous first team All-American and a two-time SEC Player of the Year.

On May 17, 2019, Williams announced he would forgo his senior season and enter the NBA draft. He was selected by Boston in the first round of the 2019 NBA draft (No. 22 overall).

Williams appeared in 104 games, including 101 starts, for the Vols. He averaged 15.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

The Hornets will next play Feb. 19 versus Houston. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. EST at Spectrum Center.
