- Daniel Kramer outlined the five biggest storylines for the Mariners entering spring training.
- Kramer also reported on the Mariners’ trip to the Super Bowl to support the Seahawks, which was spearheaded by Josh Naylor.

- Diamondbacks star outfielder Corbin Carroll will undergo surgery to repair a hamate bone fracture, which will force him to miss the WBC and could sideline him beyond Opening Day.
- Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday is joining the broken hamate bone parade — he too will likely start the season on the IL after going under the knife.
- One of the last remaining impact free agents came off the board last night, with right-hander Chris Bassitt signing a one-year, $18.5M deal with the Orioles.
- Righty reliever Evan Phillips agreed to a one-year, $6.5M pact with the Dodgers.
- The Rockies added another quality veteran starter to their mix, signing lefty José Quintana to a one-year deal.
- Right-handed starter Miles Mikolas is also off the board, penning a one-year, $2.25M pact with the Nationals.
- Left-hander Jordan Montgomery is returning to the Rangers on a one-year, $1.25M contract.
