Cowboys’ George Pickens drops big hint about next NFL team

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens will be one of the most sought-after players in the 2026 NFL free agency. The four-year veteran landed in Dallas after a tenure full of ups and downs with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pickens had the best season of his career, posting career-highs in receptions (93), yards (1,429) and touchdowns (nine). He became one of the best additions in the league, following a blockbuster deal with the Steelers.

After such a remarkable season, the wide receiver will enter free agency. The Cowboys should have the upper hand in the race for his services, but after seeing how badly they managed extension negotiations, the race appears to be wide open.

A short clip of Pickens joining former Cowboys defensive star Micah Parsons’ show has made the rounds on social media. Parsons, who requested a trade after not reaching an agreement with the Cowboys, asked a direct question to Pickens.

“You ready to be that green and gold?” Parsons asked.

Pickens laughed and dabbed him up.

“Be as open as you want to be, bro,” Parsons added. “Be you.”

The Packers were quickly considered a potential landing spot for George Pickens, and the fact that he joined Micah Parsons on his show may suggest that he could consider the move.

Michael Irving sends message to George Pickens

After recent reports suggested that the Cowboys could franchise tag Pickens and trade him to a team willing to give him a multi-year deal, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin urged Pickens to do whatever he can to stay with the Lone Star.

“I hope he is not a dummy,” Irvin said on USA Today’s “Sports Seriously,” per Chris Franklin of NJ.com. “I know he’s not a dummy, but I hope he doesn’t let this guy, any guy, persuade him. George has been looking for an opportunity like he got in Dallas with a team that can get him the ball, and now he has that. It’ll be ludicrous and stupid to say, ‘All right, now that I finally found it and I had my best year, I’m just going to get up and go.'”

This could be another dramatic saga after the Parsons back-and-forth in 2025.
