While the age of NIL and revenue-sharing has made some chaos in college football, it still creates strong earnings for student-athletes. Where it was once outlawed for a student-athlete to be paid for autographs, they can now sign corporate sponsor deals.
Former Auburn Tiger and now Texas Longhorn wide receiver Cam Coleman is one of those lucky student-athletes. On Thursday, it was announced that Coleman and the brand Crocs had come to an NIL deal.
Coleman, who transferred to Texas after two seasons in the plains, now has a reported $2.9M NIL valuation. For reference, that is roughly the annual-per-year average of an NFL second-round pick contract.

Coleman will look to not only make an impact on the field but also continue to build future earnings. He will team up with quarterback Arch Manning in 2026. The pair will be NFL Draft eligible for 2027.
Texas has created a knack for getting NIL deals its way, creating strong rosters. If head coach Steve Sarkisian can get Manning and Coleman to elevate their games, Texas will be a hard team to beat.
Texas barely missed the college football playoff last season. Their slow start outweighed their late-season surge. Adding Coleman provides an incredible receiving option for Manning and Texas’s offense.
