This week's Blue Federal Credit Union Boys Athlete of the Week award is hitting the ice, a fitting move in the middle of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Poudre School District ice hockey's Jorgan Bliss took top honors in the Fort Collins area for the week of Feb. 2-7 after a prolific performance.
Bliss scored a pair of goals and added a pair of assists for a four-point effort in PSD's 7-0 win over Ralston Valley on Senior Night.
The junior scored twice in the second period for his fifth multi-goal game of the season for the top-ranked Stars (15-1-1 as of Feb. 12).
The pair of assists also marked his fifth multi-assist game this season, and the PSD center now has four games tallying at least four combined goals or assist.
Bliss has been an instrumental part of the team's return to the top of Colorado Class 5A hockey as the No. 1 Stars aim for the program's elusive first state title after a runner-up finish in 2025.
PSD should be one of the top seeds — if not the top seed — when CHSAA releases its ice hockey playoff brackets on Feb. 16.
Bliss is the third district athlete to win Blue FCU Athlete of the Week honors this winter, joining PSD Nordic skiers Brooke Davis and Leo Tornatzky.
PSD hockey fans made their votes count, lifting Bliss in a tight two-man race with 48.1% of the total vote.
That ultimately propelled the Stars standout ahead of four other worthy boys Athlete of the Week nominees:
- Max Roselle, Timnath basketball (runner-up with 47.9%)
- Drake Walker, Fossil Ridge basketball
- Guede Wade, Heritage Christian basketball
- Andrew Schams, Windsor Charter Academy basketball
The Blue Federal Credit Union Athlete of the Week series features five nominees on Mondays, with voting at Coloradoan.com until 11:59 a.m. every Thursday.
