San Francisco will begin its first season under manager Tony Vitello on Feb. 21 in spring training. He was hired as the Giants' manager after an eight-year stint as Tennessee's head coach.
On Tuesday, the Giants announced a free agent signing ahead of the 2026 MLB season. San Francisco finalized a one-year contract worth $12 million with infielder Luis Arraez, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
He is a three-time batting champion from 2022-24 in MLB.
Arraez signed with Minnesota as an international free agent in Nov. 2013. He debuted with the Twins on May 18, 2019.
Arraez played at Minnesota from 2019-22 before being traded to Miami for Pablo Lopez, Jose Salas and Byron Chourio.
He played for the Marlins from 2023-24 and was traded to San Diego for Dillon Head, Jakob Marsee, Woo-Suk Go and Nathan Martorella. Arraez elected free agency from the Padres on Nov. 2, 2025.
