Kentucky adds Jerret McElwain as Director of Player Personnel

Will Stein has been rounding out his staff with some different hires as spring football quickly approaches. However, in today’s college football world, having a front office is a must to be successful year in and year out.

Luckily, that is what this staff is building, and UK added a new name to the staff on Friday.

According to a report by Nick Roush of KSR, Jerret McElwain will join the Cats as the Director of Player Personnel. He will work alongside both Pete Nochta and Pat Biondo.

McElwain has spent the last few seasons in Tuscaloosa working for the Crimson Tide as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel. He also worked for Kalen DeBoer at Washington and for Jim Harbaugh at Michigan.

Jerret is the son of Jim McElwain, who previously was the head coach of the Florida Gators.

With the GMs in place for the Kentucky staff, now having a guy like McElwain to help solidify the front office, things are looking brighter and brighter in Lexington. Now, let’s hope the product on the field continues the hype.
