Celebrating a special 35th edition, the Austin Marathon will return to the streets of Downtown Sunday.

For a historic anniversary, this year's event is expected to break participation and viewer records alike. More than 30,000 registered runners and 100,000 loyal spectators and volunteers will flood the streets of Austin this weekend, making it the race of a lifetime.

Since its inception in 1992, the Austin Marathon has brought together culture, community and spirit in an extremely special way. Whether athletes participate in all 26.2 miles or just opt in for the half marathon or 5K, the environment will surely make the experience worth it.

Where to watch Austin Marathon 2026

The 2026 Austin Marathon will not be broadcast on live television. 

Instead, fans can stream the entire race live for free on FloTrack and the FloSports app, which provide subscribers with access to live streams, event replays and FloSports Originals.

Austin Marathon 2026 start time

  • Date: Sunday, Feb. 15
  • Time:  7 a.m. CT | 8 a.m. ET

The Austin Marathon begins at 7 a.m. CT on Sunday, Feb. 15. Coverage continues until 2:30 p.m. CT.

Austin Marathon prize money

The total prize pool for the 2026 Austin Marathon is $20,000 in the elite pool. The winner of the men's and women's divisions will each earn $1,000. Those who place second through fifth place receive between $3,000 and $500 each.

Austin Marathon race route

The marathon route covers neighborhoods on all sides of the city, starting downtown at 2nd and Congress, and eventually finishing at the Texas Capitol Building at 9th and Congress, near the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
