Doha, Qatar: Al Sadd SC dominated the Qatar Swimming Cup for the 2025/2026 season, capturing the championship title after securing the highest cumulative points across multi-club domestic competitions.

Al Buainain presented the championship trophies and the General Excellence Shield to the victors.
Following the presentation, Al Buainain stated that this edition had met all technical and organizational benchmarks, serving as a critical platform for identifying promising national talent.
He also reaffirmed the QSA's commitment to reinforcing domestic competitions as the foundation for international development.
Al Sadd officials credited the dual victory to structured, long-term strategic planning and integrated technical oversight.
The championship concluded with a comprehensive distribution of age-group titles, where Al Sadd secured dominance in the 13-14 and 15-16 divisions, while Al Wakrah claimed the 11-12 category title alongside the Junior Swimming Festival Cup.
Additionally, Al Ahli captured the 17-18 division title, and Al Shamal won the Men's General Category.
The event drew widespread industry praise for its execution, underscoring the QSA's operational capacity in elevating the standards of domestic aquatic sports.

Manchester City’s draw at Bournemouth ended their title challenge and confirmed Arsenal as Premier League champions.
Manchester City and Omar Marmoush missed out on the Premier League title after a draw at Bournemouth confirmed Arsenal as champions with one match left.
City needed a win to keep the race alive, but Junior Kroupi put Bournemouth ahead in the 39th minute. Erling Haaland scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time, but the equaliser came too late.
The result left Arsenal four points clear before the final round. Mikel Arteta’s side sealed the club’s first league title in 22 years after finishing runners-up in the previous three seasons.
Marmoush started on the bench at the Vitality Stadium and replaced Jeremy Doku in the 76th minute as Pep Guardiola pushed for a late winner. City also introduced Phil Foden, Rayan Cherki, and Savinho before Haaland’s goal, but Bournemouth held on.
The Egyptian forward had played a role in City’s late title push. He scored in the 3-0 win over Brentford, then added another goal in the 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace four days later.
Manchester City will now finish second in the Premier League. They close their league campaign at home to Aston Villa on Sunday.

وقع العنابي في المجموعة الثانية في قرعة «خليجي 27» التي سحبت أمس في مدينة جدة وتستضيفها خلال الفترة من 23 سبتمبر و6 أكتوبر المقبلين، إلى جانب منتخبات الإمارات، والبحرين، واليمن.
وضمت المجموعة الأولى منتخبات السعودية، والعراق، وعمان، والكويت.
وجرت مراسم القرعة بحضور سعادة الشيخ حمد بن خليفة بن أحمد آل ثاني وزير الرياضة والشباب، رئيس اتحاد كأس الخليج العربي لكرة القدم، إلى جانب ممثلين عن المنتخبات الثمانية المشاركة في البطولة، وعدد من نجوم كرة القدم الخليجية السابقين.
وتعد «خليجي 27» البطولة الخامسة التي تقام تحت مظلة اتحاد كأس الخليج العربي لكرة القدم. وتستضيف السعودية البطولة للمرة الخامسة، بعد أعوام 1972 و1988 و2002 و2014.
وحسب نظام البطولة، تلعب المنتخبات في كل مجموعة بنظام دوري مجزأ من مرحلة واحدة بحيث يتأهل أول وثاني كل مجموعة إلى الدور نصف النهائي والذي يتواجه فيه متصدر المجموعة الأولى مع صاحب المركز الثاني في المجموعة الثانية، ويلعب متصدر المجموعة الثانية مع ثاني المجموعة الأولى.
وتحظى بطولة كأس الخليج العربي لكرة القدم بالكثير من الاهتمام والخصوصية لدى الجماهير الخليجية منذ انطلاقتها قبل ما يقارب الـ 56 عاما، وتحديدا عام 1970 عندما استضافت البحرين النسخة الأولى، حيث تعكس هذه البطولة قيم الأخوة والتقارب بين شعوب دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، في إطار يجمع بين التنافس الرياضي والبعد الاجتماعي.
