Ricky Proehl earned his first victory as St. Louis Battlehawks head coach with a win over defending champions DC Defenders. The result places the Battlehawks at the top of the UFL power rankings after Week 1.

Proehl, a former 17‑season NFL wide receiver, celebrated his first coaching win in the UFL after the Battlehawks defeated the DC Defenders 36‑17 in the Dome at America’s Center. He described the moment as “special” and “emotional,” recalling his own playing days with the St. Louis Rams.

The UFL’s inaugural power rankings now list the Battlehawks first, followed by the Renegades. Houston Gamblers (0‑1) and Louisville Kings (0‑1) occupy the next spots, with the league poised to crown a champion at season’s end.
