Bears Welcome Indiana Stadium Bill Move

The Chicago Bears released a statement welcoming Indiana's progress on a stadium bill, calling it a critical step toward building a world-class venue near Wolf Lake.

The Bears expressed commitment to completing due diligence for a potential site in Hammond, thanking Governor Braun and legislative leaders for establishing a framework for a public/private partnership.

The bill, which passed the Ways and Means Committee, proposes a Northwest Indiana Stadium Authority and includes a $2 billion contribution from the Bears, funded by local taxes. This comes as Illinois canceled a hearing on a competing stadium bill.
