Danika Mason Apologizes for Drinking Before Olympics Broadcast

Australian sports presenter Danika Mason has apologized for drinking alcohol before a Channel Nine live Winter Olympics broadcast, where she slurred her words and went off-topic during the segment.

Mason took full responsibility for the incident, stating, 'I want to take full responsibility, it's not the standard I set myself.' She acknowledged that she shouldn't have had a drink before the broadcast, noting that the weather and lack of food didn't help.

Studio host Karl Stefanovic attempted to cover for Mason during the segment, suggesting that cold weather might have affected her speech. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed support for Mason, saying 'I'm pro Danika. Good on her' and attributing her performance to fatigue from the time difference.
