Dr. Phillips Names 27‑Year‑Old Caleb Walls Head Coach

Dr. Phillips High School has promoted 27‑year‑old Caleb Walls to head football coach, succeeding Rodney Wells who stepped down after 15 seasons.

Walls, who has been on the coaching staff for three years, was named the Panthers’ new head coach by the school’s administration. The 27‑year‑old will take over after longtime coach Rodney Wells announced his resignation following a 15‑season tenure that produced seven double‑digit win seasons and a 136‑50 record.

Walls said the promotion was a blessing and that he had long admired Wells. The Panthers finished the 2025 season 9‑4 and were ranked 76th in the state.
