Evans questionable for Broncos game with rib injury

49ers wide receiver Mike Evans is questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos with injured ribs but plans to play through the injury with a protective compression shirt.

Evans, who practiced in a limited capacity Friday, called himself a "game-time decision" and stated, "I'm going to do my best [to play]." The veteran receiver has previously played through similar injuries, though he described the pain as feeling "like somebody stabbed me in my chest" when the injury occurred during a route.

Coach Kyle Shanahan, who broke his ribs in a car wreck this summer, sympathizes with Evans but noted, "I would not be questionable... I would be out, without a doubt. But he's definitely a lot tougher than me, so hopefully we've got a shot." The 49ers also ruled out defensive linemen Nick Bosa (knee/calf), James Thompson Jr. (ankle) and Mykel Williams (knee). syntagm.co.za
