Jayawardene Names Ghazanfar MI's X-Factor

Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene has identified young Afghan spinner Allah Ghazanfar as the team's X-factor, highlighting his potential alongside Jasprit Bumrah.

Despite conceding 51 runs in the opening match, Jayawardene backed the 20-year-old, stating he possesses the height and skill to improve and adds a crucial option to the bowling attack alongside Mitchell Santner and Mayank Markande.

The coach emphasized the importance of game time for Ghazanfar and confirmed the opening partnership of Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton will remain unchanged, with Quinton de Kock serving as backup.
