Jets' Top 3 Draft Needs: WR, QB, CB

One month before the 2026 NFL draft, the New York Jets have identified their top three remaining needs after an active free agency period.

The Jets, who added Geno Smith, T'Vondre Sweat, and Minkah Fitzpatrick in free agency, now turn their attention to the draft where GM Darren Mougey holds nine selections, including four in the top 50. Their most pressing needs include finding a WR2 opposite Garrett Wilson, securing a franchise quarterback to eventually replace Smith, and improving their cornerback competition.

With Adonai Mitchell getting a chance to establish himself as a starting wide receiver, the Jets may still seek additional young talent at the position. They recently worked out Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, though could also wait for the potentially deeper 2027 quarterback class. The secondary needs strengthening after signing Nahshon Wright and counting on Azareye'h Thomas to develop.
