The Braves will rely on left-hander Ray Kerr for his first career playoff appearance in Game 3 against the Phillies.

Kerr will serve as the opener for the Braves in the decisive Game 3 of the Wild Card Series against the Phillies. The winner advances while the loser is eliminated. Right-hander Grant Holmes is expected to pitch in bulk relief behind Kerr, who has a 1.47 ERA in 9 games with Atlanta this season.

For the Phillies, veteran right-hander Aaron Nola is expected to start. Nola went 7-12 with a 4.67 ERA in the regular season. The Phillies forced Game 3 by defeating the Braves 4-3 in 10 innings on Wednesday. afnews.co.za
