Lanning: UCLA Reminds Him of Indiana Title Team

Dan Lanning is having flashbacks to Oregon's loss to Indiana in last year's College Football Playoff. With UCLA (4-0) set to host Oregon (3-1) on Saturday, the Ducks coach noted both schools had struggling football programs before hiring coaches from James Madison who brought staff and players with them.

Like Indiana's Curt Cignetti, UCLA's Bob Chesney built a team focused on system fit rather than superstars, and both achieved surprising success in their first seasons. The Bruins' 4-0 start has Lanning preparing for a similar challenge as when his Ducks faced Indiana in the CFP semifinals. michezonews.co.za
