MacKinnon Becomes First NHL Player of 2023-24 to Reach 50 Goals

Nathan MacKinnon scored his 50th goal of the season in a 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks, becoming the first NHL player to reach the mark this year.

MacKinnon’s 50th goal came early in the first period when a liner from up top beat Vancouver goaltender Kevin Lankinen. He celebrated by sliding on his right knee while pumping his right glove.

The 30‑year‑old now has 121 points, tying Nikita Kucherov for second in the league, and marks his second 50‑goal season, joining Joe Sakic and Michel Goulet in franchise history.
