J.J. McCarthy has made it onto the Minnesota Vikings' initial 53-man roster according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, despite losing the starting quarterback job to Kyler Murray this summer.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that J.J. McCarthy has secured a spot on the Vikings' initial 53-man roster, though he won't be starting in Week 1. Kyler Murray claimed the starting position after beating out McCarthy during training camp.
