No. 16 FSU Sweeps JMU in Baseball Opener

No. 16 Florida State baseball began its 2026 campaign with a 5-1 victory over James Madison, extending their perfect 10-0 all-time record against the Dukes.

The Seminoles, led by fourth-year head coach Link Jarrett, showcased their power early with home runs from Myles Bailey and Brody DeLamielleure. Despite significant roster turnover with 23 newcomers, including top transfer LHP Trey Beard, FSU demonstrated their championship pedigree.

James Madison, coming off a 17-38 season, couldn't overcome the early deficit as FSU pitchers effectively controlled the game. The Seminoles, ranked 16th by D1 Baseball, will look to complete the three-game sweep in the coming days.
