Pirates Star Griffin Out 8-10 Weeks with Finger Injury

Pittsburgh Pirates rookie shortstop Konnor Griffin has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left ring finger injury, with an expected recovery time of 8-10 weeks.

The injury occurred during a game against Washington on Sunday. Director of Sports Medicine Todd Tomczyk confirmed the damage to the sagittal band. Griffin joins center fielder Oneil Cruz on the injured list. Despite missing time in June with a forearm strain, Griffin was off to a strong start (.276 average, 20 steals).
