Powell Suspended 3 Games for Fight

Providence forward Duncan Powell has been suspended for three games for his role in sparking a fight during Saturday's game against St. John's.

The Big East Conference announced Powell's suspension following a flagrant-two technical foul at the 14:25 mark in the second half, when he grabbed St. John's Bryce Hopkins's head while attempting a layup. The incident led to a brawl that resulted in six players being ejected, including Powell.

Along with the automatic one-game NCAA suspension for fighting, Powell will miss Providence's upcoming games against DePaul, Xavier, and Creighton. He will return for the Senior Day matchup against Marquette on March 4. No other players involved in the scuffle will be disciplined.
