Scotland & England fans face massive train fare hike for World Cup in Boston

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has announced a fourfold increase in train fares for fans traveling to World Cup matches in Boston.

Round-trip tickets from South Station to Foxborough Stadium will cost $80 (£60), compared to the standard $17.50 (£13). The hike impacts fans attending matches for Scotland (vs Haiti and Morocco) and England (vs Ghana).

Paul Goodwin of the Scottish Football Supporters Association described the price increase as "totally out of order," warning it could force fans to take on debt. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday at 16:00 BST.
