Shokalook Signs MLS Contract After Next Pro Success

Erie native Jason Shokalook has signed an MLS contract through 2026 after a remarkable season in MLS Next Pro where he won the Golden Boot award.

The Pittsburgh-born striker had a challenging upbringing, traveling extensively for hockey and soccer before focusing on the latter. After excelling at University of Akron, Shokalook was selected 35th overall by Chicago Fire in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.

He flourished in MLS Next Pro, scoring 20 goals and earning finalist honors for the 2025 MVP award. His performance earned him a promotion to the senior team and a new contract with club options through 2028.
