Colin Dorgan scored the winning goal in double overtime of a playoff game, sending his Blackstone Valley hockey team to the state championship. The 17-year-old's dramatic breakaway came just weeks after witnessing his father, Robert Dorgan, kill his mother, brother, and grandfather during a February hockey game in Pawtucket, R.I.
Following the tragedy, Coach Chris Librizzi supported Colin and his teammates through bonding activities. Colin rejoined the team two weeks later, wearing a heart patch with his late family members' initials on his jersey. Despite the horrific circumstances, Colin expressed that scoring the winning goal was 'the greatest moment of my life.'
