A Fort Bend County grand jury on Monday declined to indict Beverley on one count of assault of a family member. The former NBA player had been arrested in November after his sister alleged he grabbed her by the neck, slammed her against a wall and punched her in the face.
Beverley maintained he had unexpectedly found his sister, a minor, alone with an 18-year-old man. The player, who last played for the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2023-24 season, said he was 'deeply grateful' for the grand jury's decision and emphasized the need to 'protect our children, especially our young girls.'
