Torino Fires Baroni, Hires D'Aversa

Torino has fired Marco Baroni after a 3-0 loss to Genoa, appointing Roberto D'Aversa as the new coach to replace him.

Turin-based Serie A club Torino has dismissed head coach Marco Baroni following a 3-0 defeat at Genoa on Sunday, which marked the team's fourth consecutive winless match in all competitions. The match was particularly difficult as Torino played the entire second half with 10 men.

The 15th-placed club, just three points clear of the relegation zone, has immediately appointed 50-year-old Roberto D'Aversa as Baroni's replacement. The Italian-born Stuttgart native has signed a contract until June 30 and previously coached several Italian sides including Empoli, Lecce, Sampdoria, Parma and Virtus Lanciano.
