USA Advances to Olympic Women’s Hockey Gold Medal Game

The United States defeated Sweden 5-0 in the women's hockey semifinal at the Milan Cortina Games, with Aerin Frankel stopping 21 shots for her third shutout of the tournament. Abby Murphy, Kendall Coyne Schofield and Hayley Scamurra scored in quick succession in the second period, while Cayla Barnes and Taylor Heise also added goals.

The win extends the U.S. shutout streak to 331 minutes, 23 seconds and improves their record to 6-0, 31-1 overall. The Americans will face Canada in the gold‑medal match on Thursday, a rematch of the 5-0 preliminary round victory.
