Hull City winger Yu Hirakawa is set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

The 25-year-old Japan international, who is on loan from Bristol City, picked up the injury in Saturday's home defeat by QPR.

"It's very bad news, he must have surgery," boss Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside.

Jakirovic also said that full-back Ryan Giles could be out for six weeks with a hamstring injury picked up in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Derby County.

"I don't know what the damage is there, but from my experience it is six weeks," he said.
