Inter Milan have reportedly identified Sporting Braga goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek as a potential replacement for Yann Sommer.
During his recent interview via FCInterNews, Hornicek’s agent confirmed his client has a €30 million release clause.
Yann Sommer is likely to leave San Siro at the end of the season.
Indeed, his contract runs out in June, with the Nerazzurri unwilling to offer him a new deal.
Furthermore, Cristian Chivu is reluctant to promote Josep Martinez as a new number one.
Instead, the runaway Serie A leaders are scouring the market for a new goalkeeper.
In addition to Freiburg’s Noah Atubolu and Cagliari’s Elia Caprile, Inter have set their sights on Tottenham Hotspur star Guglielmo Vicario.
However, Braga starlet Hornicek has emerged as another potential candidate to replace the Swiss veteran.
At 23, Hornicek is one of Europe’s most highly rated young goalkeepers, with Inter reportedly keeping close tabs on his progress.

“Lukas is an exceptional goalkeeper,” Bernd Gabriel said. “He approaches every phase methodically, yet continues to progress steadily.
“What truly sets him apart is his stoic calm; his emotions are impossible to read, which is why he’s called the Iceman.
“Additionally, Lukas impresses with his exceptional reflexes and commanding presence. His height of 1.99 meters naturally enhances this presence.”
Then, he addressed Inter’s rumored interest in his client.
“I can’t answer this question with absolute certaint,” he admitted. “I’ve often heard talk of Inter’s interest, especially from well-informed journalists…
“It’s true that Lukas has also attracted attention from other clubs, for example, in the Premier League. As things stand, it will definitely be an exciting and busy summer transfer window.
“In terms of quality, Lukas is certainly ready for a big club. However, I also believe he has benefited greatly from his steady and gradual development so far.
“During his time at Braga, he gained enormous value from the special trust of goalkeeping coach Eduardo Carvalho. Eduardo has the ability to fully understand Lukas as a person and bring out the best in him.
“Over the years, they’ve built an exceptional level of mutual trust. The patience to work for many hours on small, consistent improvements is now paying off.”
Finally, he revealed Hornicek’s price.
“There is an official release clause of €30 million, which is no secret. We also know that in Spain and Portugal, release clauses are often seen as a starting point for negotiations.
“Therefore, I believe a figure around €20 million could be realistic. However, it is also true that Lukas has a contract with Braga until summer 2028, which means the final decision rests with the club.”
