Former Boston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo has reportedly agreed to a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres.

The move comes after a disappointing 2025 campaign with the Atlanta Braves, where Verdugo posted a .239 average and zero home runs before being designated for assignment. The 29-year-old will look to revitalize his career in San Diego, having previously starred for the Red Sox and Yankees during his nine-year MLB tenure.
