Breece Hall Open to Jets Future
Breece Hall expressed uncertainty about his long-term future with the New York Jets, telling the New York Post, "I don't know" and "whatever happens, happens" when asked about staying with the franchise. The running back watched as teammates Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams were traded away while he remained with the team.
Despite the lack of commitment, Hall had a solid 2025 season, rushing for a career-high 1,065 yards with four touchdowns and adding 36 receptions for 350 yards. As one of the top running backs available for the 2026 season, Hall could seek a change of scenery to join a team with better offensive surroundings.

Teams are able to add new players through free agency and the NFL draft. The current 2026 offseason brings those same feelings out.
However, trying to retain players instead of losing them is a big part of the equation as well. All 32 NFL teams, including the New York Jets, have to decide what to do about their own pending free agents.
Who should stay and who should go?
As it pertains to the Jets and free agency in March, Pro Football Focus provided a name that New York should try and retain: Breece Hall.
PFF revealed each NFL's highest-graded pending free agent from last season and New York's is their top running back in no surprise.
Hall, 24, is fresh off his first season surpassing 1,000 rushing yards (1,065) despite the Jets' struggles on offense in 2025. While PFF suggests keeping Hall, that might be difficult with him openly hinting at leaving New York throughout last season.

The Jets journey into the 2026 spring with more foundational questions than they’d like, including what to do with Hall. New York elected to keep the running back at the trade deadline despite peak interest, and his play could net a return. Hall enjoyed arguably the best season of his solid career with an 83.7 PFF rushing grade, 40 missed tackles forced and 17 runs of 15 or more yards. He also accrued a 75.2 PFF receiving grade with 350 yards through the air.
