Capitals Hold Off Knights' Comeback

Pierre-Luc Dubois scored twice and assisted on another as the Washington Capitals defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 on Friday night.

Washington built a 3-0 lead in the second period with Dubois contributing to all three goals and Jakob Chychrun scoring his 22nd of the season. The Golden Knights mounted a comeback with Braeden Bowman and Tomas Hertl scoring in the third period, but fell short.

The victory improves Washington's playoff positioning, pulling them within two points of the New York Islanders for third place in the Metropolitan Division. The Capitals are now 2-0 since the Olympic break and have won six of their last seven games.
