Colts Grant Richardson Trade Permission

The Indianapolis Colts have granted Anthony Richardson permission to seek a trade following his failed competition for the starting quarterback position.

The No. 4 pick of the 2023 NFL draft, Richardson lost the QB battle to Daniel Jones for the 2025 season. The Colts intend to keep Jones as their franchise quarterback for 2026 and beyond.

Richardson, 23, has struggled with injuries throughout his career, including an orbital fracture last season and a shoulder injury that required surgery after his rookie year. In 2024, he started 11 games but completed just 47.7% of his passes for 1,814 yards with eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
