Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that pitcher Kyle Hurt will transition to a bullpen role for the 2026 season. Despite recovering from Tommy John surgery, Hurt’s strong performance in limited appearances solidified his position.

Roberts cited Hurt’s history of effectiveness, noting his 1.04 ERA over 8.2 innings before his surgery. The pitcher expressed excitement about the move, stating he is ready to contribute from the bullpen.

Looking ahead, Hurt remains optimistic about increasing his velocity through rehabilitation. He is currently observing teammates like Cy Young winner Blake Snell and Yoshinobu Yamamoto to refine his approach.
