Doohan Receives Death Threats Before Alpine Exit

Jack Doohan said he received death threats and saw armed men during the Miami Grand Prix, before Alpine replaced him with Franco Colapinto.

In the Netflix series "Drive To Survive," Jack Doohan disclosed that he received multiple death‑threatening emails and witnessed armed men around the Miami Grand Prix. He said the threats were so severe he had to call a police escort to manage the situation.

Following the race, Alpine dropped Doohan and promoted Franco Colapinto to the seat. Doohan, now a reserve driver for Haas, posted that he and his family had faced online abuse, attributing it to fans from Colapinto’s home country of Argentina.
