Flyers Edge Maple Leafs 3-2 in Shootout to Win Third Straight

Matvei Michkov and Trevor Zegras scored in the shootout to lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday.

Noah Cates gave Philadelphia a 2-1 lead with 5:18 remaining in regulation, but Auston Matthews equalized on the power play with 2:30 left. The Flyers prevailed in the shootout as William Nylander scored the Maple Leafs' only goal.

Travis Konecny missed the game with a lower-body injury, while Matthews extended his goal-scoring drought to eight games.
