Indiana has moved closer to finalizing legislation that would help fund a Bears stadium near the Illinois border. The state Senate passed a 45-4 bill that now goes to Governor Mike Braun's desk. Meanwhile, an Illinois legislative committee has advanced a bill to help establish a foundation for the Bears to build a stadium in Arlington Heights, where the team owns property.
While there's currently no indication of a lakefront stadium happening in Chicago, both states are progressing toward decision-making time. Indiana is nearly ready to move forward, with Illinois following a similar path, though the Bears have yet to finalize any deal with either entity.
