NFL GM Mocks Tate's Slow 40 Time

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane jokingly criticized Ohio State receiver Carnell Tate's 40-yard dash time during the NFL Scouting Combine broadcast, calling him 'pretty slow.'

During Saturday's NFL Network coverage, Beane couldn't resist poking fun at the top 2026 draft prospect after Tate posted a 4.54-second 40-yard dash. 'He's pretty slow,' Beane said with a smile. 'I probably wouldn't take him early. Did you see how slow he was out of the gate?'

The comment drew laughter from the broadcast team, with Beane potentially attempting poker face strategy in hopes Tate might slip to Buffalo at No. 26 overall. Despite the slow time, Tate remains firmly in the first-round conversation after his productive junior season with 51 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns.
