Rahm Accuses European Tour of Extortion

Spanish golfer Jon Rahm has accused the DP World Tour of extortion in their ongoing dispute over participation in LIV tournaments.

Jon Rahm has used the strong word "extortion" to describe his conflict with the European Tour. The Spanish golfer claims he and other LIV players are being pressured to sign a two-way agreement that would stop fines for playing in Saudi LIV tournaments, but require them to pay pending debts and compete in a minimum number of European Tour events.

Specifically, Rahm's deal to avoid financial penalties involves playing six European Tour tournaments this season, with two selected by the organization. However, Rahm has refused to compete in more than the minimum four tournaments required to maintain his tour card, creating a standoff in the negotiations.
