Nine-time All-Star Chris Sale, who was set to become a free agent after this season, has signed what is likely his final contract before retirement. The 36-year-old lefty will remain with the Braves through at least 2027, joining Spencer Strider and Spencer Schwellenbach as key pitchers locked up with the organization.
The Braves, who are considering a six-man rotation to start the season, continue to build their pitching depth with the addition of Sale, who has become a clubhouse leader since joining Atlanta.
