In July of 2025, the Oregon Ducks — and new wide receivers coach Ross Douglas, in particular — scored a big win with the commitment of 5-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman. It was a big fish to land early on in the cycle, but it proved tough to hold onto.
Just a couple of months later, in September of 2025, Bowman announced that he was opening up his recruitment and retracting his verbal commitment to Oregon. Now, several months later, it appears that Bowman is no longer even considering the Ducks in his recruitment.
On Monday, Bowman announced his top five schools, listing the Ohio State Buckeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide, Miami Hurricanes, Tennessee Volunteers, and Vanderbilt Commodores.
Bowman is rated as the No. 31 player and No. 6 WR in the 2027 class, per the 247Sports Composite. He stands at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, and plays at Brentwood Academy in Tennessee.
While the Ducks may no longer be in on Bowman, their 2027 class is shaping up nicely so far. At the moment, they have the No. 14 class in the nation with five commitments. They also lead for some of the top prospects in the class, including 5-star QB Will Mencl.
